URGENT: finding more friends on the app, Yo

About two weeks ago, Yo launched with vigor. 

It accumulated a ton of curiosity as its sole purpose is to send yo's to friends. What does that even mean? It means I tap on your name on the screen and it sends a push notification saying that I just yo'd you. Sometimes (and I still haven't figured out why it's only sometimes) the phone says "yo" out loud in this mechanical manly tone, "yo~" Listening to it "yo" is EXTREMELY satisfying and instantaneously makes your day 400 times better.

Plus, as if the app isn't a joke enough (parodies like the Game of Thrones Hodor-ing instead of Yo-ing has emerged), the reviews on the Apple app store page are hilarious!

The problem with Yo (as an app) right now is its decline in popularity. Just like how it had shot to the top of the app store, now it is just another app floating in the appsphere. There are talks about how Yo is a revolutionary app opening the doors into a new level of push notification strategies... but isn't this taking everything a little too far? Isn't this the model example of the North American way of flourishing everything with words for depth? Though we all know what is shallow and what is not, we are all prone to influences. When embellishments are smartly stated, they have the power to disorient the audience into believing in them. In all optimism and fast-paced world of technology, let's see how Yo turns itself around. Until then, I'm having a ton of fun Yo-ing three contacts. THREE. So sad. Therefore, I am searching for more friends on Yo.... add me @ rachelchungg and we can Yo all day...!!!!!!! 

On a side note, there's apparently this new social networking portal opening that is going to be strictly emoji-only. If you've IM-ed with me before, you know how critical emoticons are to my well-being and heightened level of communication. I've already reserved my Emoji.li username. Maybe you'd like to do so? Then we can be friends on the two of the world's "dumbest" + "minimalistic" apps.

Marketing Tidbit ft. Lindsay Lohan

I mean, if you know me, you know that I still do love Lindsay Lohan. She will forever be in my heart for her work in The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and of course, Mean Girls. I blame at least half of her train-wreck-ness to her awful parents; the mom, her "manager" partied side-by-side with her for most of Lindsay's binge days! Her dad is infamous for his abusive lifestyle and low ways of blackmailing Lindsay for her money. I still believe in her... And I will be supporting her when she makes a real comeback (like, please, no more reality TV...). And this is why this presentation I found on SlideShare is just so damn touching--and quite hilarious.

This brilliant and laughable digital strategy proposal written by Kristian Henschel and Julian Cole, starts off with "From Disney Princess to nightclub brawling, playboy revealing, celebrity train-wreck, Welcome to Brand Lindsay Lohan." It's just like a real presentation. They are re-branding Lindsay Lohan. The flow goes from....

...Then straight to the Strategy Insight (secondary research worth putting into slides for they compliment the understanding of the strategy proposed later on in the presentation). Here, they focus on societal movements, most specifically, the YOLO movement. Then they present the overarching strategical idea of making LiLo from the "posterchild of YOLO phenomenon" into the "ALTERNATIVE to YOLO". LOL!!!!! Why is this slide deck turning so serious?!?! At this point, I'm half gaffaughing (like snort-laughing) and pressing next slide button furiously.

The creators continue on to present their various tactics, detailed processes, and even KPI's. W3rd. Okay, so that's enough rambling.

I thought this was mildly entertaining enough to post. Hope y'all have a good day and I'm now going to brew coffee for mom (#EverydayActivities, #ISpendTooMuchTimeAtHome, #AmIWastingMyYouth, #Loser). Time to play Loser by Beck as coffee brewing background music. :'(

I cut my hair chop chop

If the post title ain't literal enough... I went into Aveda Tonic on South Granville (great salon btw!!!!) to chop chop my hair off. Initially I just wanted to chop my bangs off, but somehow my hair dude Jovica ended up just chopping errthing off. Whatever! Now it feels like I have no more hair left! It's so thin that it barely makes a bun... Can you believe it!? I was also wearing a sheer sweater that day and my bare nipples underneath it were magnificently covered by my long flowy hair but after the cut, they were visible.

Life before it got boring.

RIGHT NOW. Life is boring. All I look forward to are readings that I am behind on and my beautiful bed. I wish to wash my pillowcase because there are black marks everywhere.... Mascara + eyeliner. OMG. It's killing me. But I don't have the time, so I will get around to it this weekend. Stoked to kill off the items off my to-do list.


At work @ JNBY. Sample sale is going on ! Come and ask the associates to book an appointment !!!! It's gonna be killer. 2623 Granville Street is the address, between 10th Avenue and 11th Ave. Sweeeeet. During a down time, we tried on pieces in all these different ways; it's pretty sick. However, my BlackBerry is on its death spiral right now... and isn't functioning at its prime. SIGH. So here is the question: android or iPhone 5 ?!?!!!???!?

Bored at work. I haven't been drawing a lot these days due to lack of time and me reading (fiction, of course) when there is spare time. So I think I lost all my pen holding skills.
