Like O Like H by Tegan and Sara
I spent around five hours today on iTunes burning five CDs for various friends and making a new and long playlist for myself. Also deleting unwanted music to make room for fashion images and manga, and trying to back movie files up on an external hard drive and failing. All in all, I didn't really do anything much productive (like sending out important and backlogged e-mails or calling my university for answers) other than cleaning out my music folder on iTunes. Hmm.

Watched this movie with my friend the other day. Basically the movie is SO HOT, SO SEXY, AND SO SAD. Plus, everyone smokes and has nicely coloured lips, so that was a bonus !! Anyhow, Colin Firth is incredible in it; he must've worked out loads for this role, too. Colin took the Best Actor award from Venice Film Fest. This is not anything you'd expect from him, but something you'd definitely expect from Tom Ford. Tom Ford works his magic and makes everyone impeccably hot and complex in mere hour and half. This was his directing debut and it was a hit !! This man is a bag full of talents that bursts to exceed everyone's expectations all the time. Can't wait what the future will bring from him...
This ones a short animation that I found on YouTube. It was so cute and despite the cuteness, it also came with a message. So I thought, it's summer time, why not enjoy a movie for a couple of minutes ?!?!?? Oh, PS. This movie is not for children. AHHAHA. Watch to find out ! ;) ;)

putting on my reading glasses
Whether it be for my tutoring or for pure enjoyment, I've been reading a variety of things: some really great mangas, a children's novel, a short story, and more ! In fact, I've enjoyed so many of them that I feel compelled to share them with you. In life whenever you find something good, one can get something even better by sharing it. Am I growing up ?!!? MY LORD. Let's start. First off, this is a brilliant children's novel.
Secret Letters from 0 to 10 by Susie Morgenstern.
I re-read this masterpiece, because I have just started to teach a fourth grader. So I wanted to use this book as novel study since I remember it being really good ! And this time around, it did not disappoint. It was even better than what I remembered it to be, and it really isn't a book for a fourth grader at all. In fact, it's probably a book for us to reflect upon. The story is so elaborately woven, the vocabulary is so carefully picked, and the plain yet sensual plot is so carefully executed. This is a must-read for readers of all ages. Plus, it is a French book originally, so I guess if you can read French, reading it in original text would be a better idea.

Bakuman, This manga has long ago have seated itself on my favourite list. It is a story about two best friends trying to hit it big in the manga world; they work as mangakas. It does have its drag moments, but each drawing is crucial to the story. LOVE it. Niizuma Eiji is SO CUTE and the excessive talk bubbles are a bonus ! :)
Koukou no Hito, A new manga found. I'm sure this will definitely become famous and in mainstream in no time. Interesting style having the trendy style now mixed in with the detailed old-school drawing. Lots of muscle drawing on boys here and there. Can't wait to see the plot unveil itself. Steady new updates !! Get to reading this NOW !! Oh, it's about ROCK CLIMBING. WOAAAHH. FRESH CONCEPT. COOOOOOOLLLLL +0+ !!
One Piece, Classic. It's been no good for the last lag, but it has been picking up the storyline. Right now, going back in time when Luffy first met Ace. So yeah. It's my #1 Favourite. I know it has more than 500 chapters, but I still don't want it to ever end ~~
Giant Killing, A football manga !! YAY FOR ALL GREAT SPORTS MANGAS !! Especially when it's about underdogs aiming for a championship win !! Teehee. The twist in this manga is that it's through a COACH'S perspective and not the players. The characters are very distinct and new, so even if this may be your 80th sports manga, it won't disappoint !! Plus the art is so edgy !! YAY FOR GIANT KILLING !!
Alexandrite, An OLD one !! Started in 1991, the year I WAS BORN IN !! ahhahahhahahaha. It's a lovely manga, situated in NYC !! What more could you want ?!!? ALL about androgyny, fashion, prep school kids, and university life + parties. IT'S GOT EVERYTHING WE LOVE AS FASHION BLOGGERS. I can't get enough. And they've been supplying with steady new updates, too. SO READ THIS. Apparently, this is a sequel and there is a prequel focusing on one of the primary characters.
All Summer in a Day by Ray Radbury
Ray Radbury is a pretty famous guy, in fact, this short story is quite famous itself. I found it to do a lesson with one of my students. We didn't get to it yet, but I find it to be good. You can do a lot of analyzing with it. I think in America, it is part of Grade 5 curriculum... ??!?!? Ahhahaa, not that that matters too much. The thing is, it is one of the most beautiful and sad stories I've read. It really teaches us to reflect on our negative emotions and how we deal with others that are discriminated. It even got made into a short 26 minute short film so enjoy those, too !!

So ladies and gents. I have somewhat successfully completed my first year of university without much dips.. well at least. The dreadful marks will unveil themselves on the 2nd of May. Until then, I shall leave my sanity in a sacred box under my desk and play to my heart's content. Har har.
Since I'm going out to hang out with Koreans today, I'd like to make this a long delayed Korean post. First let's start of with long time ago Karlie Kloss from W Korea, and then the uber cool editorial Abbey Lee did for Vogue Korea (this is my first editorial from anything Korea that I like). I'm also not caught up with new editorials or what not, so there might be some better Korean mag's editorials out there that I've not seen. STAY TUNED !! I'LL EDUCATE MYSELF SOON !! AHHAHA. PS. Abbey's such a natural; I love her to DEATH. GUGHGhghgjhgl.
Been getting tons of Korean music ! Including this funky new band that my friend introduced me to ! Their name is EE !! SO CUTE !! Apparently they are getting married this year; I think that they are perfect for each other. Another point to note would be that this woman is sort of psycho and she was sued for assaulting a concert-goer or sth like that !!??! So she's like a Korean Courtney Love. HOW EXCITING !! BAHHaa
Another band is my ultra favourite, Hot Potato. I posted Confession few posts ago, and this is the follow-up. Part two. This song's name is See-Saw. It's really sad. Because here, you find out that the guy is actually married and has kids.. and then the girl is in the hospital and she ends up dying. It's sort of a typical sappy music video story that Koreans like to use. But the atmosphere achieved through this short film is totally different, and it has a quirky sense of humour. When he fed her an apple, the girl says "Ohhh, so apples were delicious"
Man: "You sound like you never ate apples"
Girl: "Yeah, I didn't eat apples much"
Man: "Really? Apples are my favorite"
Girl: "...heh heh...I'm allergic to apples."

The QUEEN of KPop is back !! With a full new album, H-Logic, which is actually bringing her LOADS of lawsuits !! SEVEN SONGS WERE SUED FOR PLAGIARISM. And when I went and compared them.. wow. I was quite surprised how BLATANTLY similar they are !! DLAKG;AIDFJKLADHGADF. Shame on Hyo-ri's part imo. However, call this the Korean Lady GAGA or another one of GAGA's copycat, but it's still awesome and I can't get more of it. This song was not sued for plagiarism, but it still sounds like everything we've already heard anyhow. WATCH HER STRUT HER HOTNESS + CONFIDENCE TO THE MAX.

Some of them are actually from abroad, so they speak English well and tweets in English, too. It's nice. It's actually quite interesting to see what they talk about. Sometimes it's about Korea's current events and all that. But this is my favourite Korean celebrity's twitter page. I thought I was going to have a heartattack.. becauseeeee...
