GUU OTOKOMAE + 45
Because I basically live at Guu Gastown.... Tamo was nice enough to share some of his amazing music with me. Out of the wonderful mixes he had produced from world to trance to dub stuff, I really liked this band, 45. 45 has simple beats + lyrics, but maybe because they are simple... we can connect and listen to the songs as easy-listening ?! Going around the mix of genres, hip-hop, house, and jazz, 45 still adds in the rhymes and some phrases to make you ache inside. Big fan now. Check them out.... they deserve more than 15 views !!!! LOL !
The other night @ Guu Gastown with Japanese exchange students before going out to The Waldorf.

hair therapy for the bleh-
I was feeling like poop these days -- and pretty much still am -- so I decided to go ahead and get my hair done. Do her up. So does the blonde (or white, whatever) work on Asians ? Your call.
The process of double bleaching, treatment, toner, then again treatment !! At the Aveda Institute salon in Gastown, Vancouver.

G A S T O W N !
There are many sweet spots around Vancouver, but I LOOOOOOVE GASTOWN. I can spend hours during the day there and I can spend hours + good times during the night, too !! It houses my favorite restaurant in Vancouver, Guu Otokomae, and many more delish eats.
This post is a glimpse into a few of those exceptional places to grab a bite. I toured with le fam jam, since my little sister was out of town for a swim meet.. Perfect time to go out and play to make her jealous ! Hehe.
Owned by the Sean Heather who owns The Irish Heather & Salt Tasting Room, it is located in his "posh" Gastown back alley. Judas Goat is a small place and is designed for you to just sit, sip, and chat. Small place for small things; nothing grand nor wild. In fact, it's probably not the best time of year to go over these days.. wait until the sun comes out !! During the summer, they have a nice patio and the windows really let the light into the place. The winter, it just seems like a cave.. Somewhat. Plus it's sort of disgusting to walk into a wet alley.. don't cha think !?
We had just a beer and a meatball slide. Well, considering that we were already STUFFED from dinner at home... This was already a brave move. Oh and the last pic is a GPOY pic, LOOOOLLLLLL !!
Located around half a block away from Judas Goat, we ventured into this fairly new place called, Peckinpah. It's a BBQ house. If you are a meat lover and haven't been here yet... WHAT ARE YOU DOING !? We grabbed another beer, an IPA despite the fact that their bourbon selection is ASTRONOMICAL !!!
The great thing about this place was its friendly friendly price. The menu just shone out saying pick me pick me come back come back !! It was a nice size and even sitting at the bar was comfortable. The service was quick and friendly as usual with all Gastown restaurants. The best was their side salad... I forget what it was... and too bad that I was too busy feasting and getting fat than taking pictures of it. But basically it had all these great greens that I love like kale and swiss char (spelling !?). Sooooooo yums. Everything was good and it must've been super good if it tasted so fantastic to already full people.

Acme Cafe
As the title indicates, I will be posting a little foodie post about Acme Cafe !!
Located near Gastown on Hastings and Abbott, Acme Cafe is THE perfect for brunch. If I lived near the area, you now know where you'd find me during brunch hours.
With UNLIMITED coffee (which is a HUGE deal for coffee addicts like me at brunch), impeccable service, and food that makes you drool from the menu, Acme does it well.
I went with my parents and my neighbour. It was a jolly, random brunch in December. I had the Quiche of the day which was tuna in my case. It was served with soup and house green salad. MMMMmmm. It was a pure, filling satisfaction. My dad ordered the shrimp and avocado sandwich which was served with broccoli slaw. Lemon meringue pie followed for dessert and more coffee !!!! Weird how I didn't go to the bathroom like 6 times during the brunch.. I only went twice. Hehe.
What I wore: black Keith cape, dalmatian brooch, the Aldo heels that I seem to always wear..... I'm SUPER into black these days. If you see me NOT wearing black, I don't know.. that is probably not me. Ahahhaha.
Ew, I've got so much hair. But guess what !? This was back in December.. Now I've a fair amount of hair because I got it ALL CHOPPED OFF !! HUZZZZAHHHH !!!! Anyways, when I came home I learned how to make the clean bun and I had fun with my new flip-up mickey mouse shades from Urban Outfitters.

The Diamond
"I need a drink," said my friend, Jenny. I obviously agreed. Who doesn't need a drink !?
After going here and there throughout the day, we ended up at The Diamond in Gastown. I have a biased opinion on anything located in Gastown... I ADORE that place. But aside from that, The Diamond was a wonderful place for us to go. It was perfect. Definitely one of the top places to hit up for quality, creative cocktails and even when you're a little bit hungry.. They serve tapas + little snacks, too !!! It is a little hard to find, but not really. Across from L'Abattoir and Six Acres.. upstairs. You might spot a cute chandelier peeking from one of the upstairs windows ~
And the above pictures ties in BEAUTIFULLY with my latest LIGHTING obsession. I thought I was really into lamps, then just normal bulbs, and then the mod-style 1950s lighting... but no. Secretly I'm digging the all feminine luxury good: THE CHANDELIER. Someone get me a chandelier RIGHT NOW. The chandelier at The Diamond had the cutest ELK HEADS on them !!!!!!! CUUUUUUUTEEE. WAAAAAAAAAANNTTT. YESSSSSSSSSS.
