H O T days in Vancouver
This is how I survived the hot days.
Never taking off my sunnies, wearing hats everyday to cover my OVERGROWN BLACK ROOTS, and constantly downing ice or ice cream.
No clouds in sight.
The greenery.
This reminds me of The Graduate. The clear blue skies and oldness and pale peach colour. Now if only my skin colour was insanely orangely tanned.......

VERY INTERESTING. I IMPLORE YOU TO GO READ IT. I MEAN. There's only around 30 pages uploaded. Sooooo it will take you literally less than 4 minutes to read.. if you are a pro manga reader. If not, it might take a little more than five minutes.
I love how the title is a TOTAL IRONY -- 반전 -- for the manga itself is not shoujo ! Shoujo is a romance genre in manga/Japan. It's pretty sick and depressing. But the main character finds a series of shoujo manga. I can't wait for it to continue.. but I'm happy if it ends up being an one shot. LOVE its unusual artistic style, the choppy and simplistic box structures, and the weird futuristic sick concept. Oh and check out the main character's DAISY EYES in the last pic. Ahahhahahhahhahahahhahahaha !!

Let's Go Surfing by The Drums, for some summer-filled music.
The weather is blisteringly nice today.
But it's too hot. I feel like an egg being boiled. So I invested time on YouTube finding stuff reminding me about the cold.
Gosh, this guy's cool: Kazuhiro Kokubo. He's also TINY !
Note how the mountains in Japan look different from the North American ones ! Even the trees ! The rocks ! The trails !!

cupcakes, cupcakes, cupcakes ..nachos !
It was Father's Day back in June when Vancouver's first Cupcake Challenge was held !
I was notified through twitter and other blogs and what not and being a cupcake lover (excpet I can only eat them with coffee.. not too good with sweets), I called up my high school friend, Bianca, and proceeded to Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre.
WOW.
So that day.. I just remember eating. I'll post the Father's Day dinner part some time else.. it's a whole food post by itself T^T. There really is no wonder why I don't decrease in my clothing size. Bahahhahaha.
Each person who entered the room were judges.. so in a way one is obliged to eat cupcakes from each booth. The room SMELLED SWEET. Okay !??!? There was a lot of traffic and A LOT of cupcakes being handed out !! FOR FREE !! YAAAYYYY !! Plus, the waterbottles being sold on site were only $1 !
Big City Cupcakes won overall and the Neopolitan cupcake from Frostings won the best cupcake. I voted for Big City as the winner even though they are obviously the most renowned.. their cupcakes were TOO GOOD !! I also took a shot of the Neopolitan cupcake because that REALLY tasted good. So I think the results were truly honest and rewarding ! :) :) :)
After the Cupcake Challenge, Bianca and I went to JJ Bean for some caffeine. For me, I had to wash out all the leftover sweetness in my mouth, ahahhaha. And voila ! That was our lunch at around eleven o'clock in the morning.

Then we were off to Main Street for No Car Day festivities !! I picked up a scarf, my friend, Maddy, picked up a beautiful set of feather earrings, and tired and hungry as we were around four, we went to The Main for some beer and nachos. MMMM. NACHOS.

I've not had much time these days to frolic on the internet or on my computer to upload pictures or what not. Summer supposed to be relaxing. For me, this summer has been quite stressful and busy, and get this, I don't even work.. Well I tutor. But that's basically it ?? Ahahahhahahaha !! I hope I'm not just making up stress for myself though. Plus what's with this deadly heat all of a sudden !?
Anyhow. I digress.
So with little time I've on the net these days, I've been reading.. manga. LOL. Vagabond !! First serialized in 2002, adapted from Eiji Yoshikawa's novel, Musashi, written and drawn by Takehiko Inoue. He's the guy who wrote Slam Dunk, so you are guaranteed great quality of a manga for sure. It's about Miyamoto Musashi's life as a vagabond (rounin) swordsman. Oh but all the cuts that I saved and am sharing with you feature another character. I like this one more, Sasaki Koujiro, a deaf swordsman. OOOOHHH. It's already OH SO EXCITING, AIN'T IT !?!? Ahahhahah !!
Lots of blood, action, great landscape shots, death, women, manliness (!?), and even a little bits of Japanese history. It's ongoing at 287 chapters. Read it online at One Manga, but if you got the cash, buy the manga volumes and support the industry !
