Yes, I just can't get enough of the Olsen twins. They provide me with the thrill of unaffordablehandbags, affordable (so tempting) shades, and the cheap (OMG HOW AND WHY DO I NOT HAVE A TEE ALREADY !??!) StyleMint shirts. Here is the selection of shades from their luxury line, The Row, that I like from Net-A-Porter: (probably forever)

STYLE NANDAAAAAAAAA

My friend, Joanne, first introduced me to this online shopping site based in Seoul, Korea: STYLE NANDA. Now a huge thing internationally. Has tons of sweet clothes, accessories, shoes and make up that I just want to acquire. Just frickin' ship 'em over here without orders, can't ya !??!!!?!?

So I went surfing ALL OVER IT this morning. GUGH.
Here are the coveted items that won't end up in my closet.

MORE LOVE

Just wanting to share more. No harm. Inspirations from the past two weeks or so. Getting back to the blogging habit.

BEAUTIFUL. Found it on Style Bubble. A blog you should all have stumbled upon on the world wide web. Feather accessories for both sexes. I was more attracted to these for males. It was the feather's vulnerability that killed it. Instead of STRONG shoulder pads, here we have soft feathers.

Only in Nippon.
Last week, I was out Downtown, roaming the vintage stores with Tiff, a great girl, when I was approached my two Japanese guys asking me if I was Japanese in Japanese. Again, out of JAPN 150 habit, I replied "No, I'm Korean" in Japanese. We laughed. As if I can speak any more Japanese than that. I want to live there. I need to go there.

Never Let Me Go written by Kazuo Ishiguro

I give 100 billion thanks to my friend for lending me this book ! Today, I finally finished it and am delighted how different yet similar the book and the movie were.

The movie was definitely more haunting with its visuals and sounds (including the many silent scenes of landscapes). However the characters could be perceived totally differently with the book. Whereas in the movie, I thought that Kathy H. was always in the right and Ruth in the wrong, it was totally the opposite in the novel. I now have this connection and pity with Ruth while I seem to detest Kathy's deliberate actions. Oh, she's the worst. She seems to be the weak, kind-hearted girl, but OH DON'T BE FOOLED. She's so sneaky and deliberate in the most "peaceful" ways.

Well that's enough ranting from me. Read it yourself and watch the movie, too !!!!! Here's the trailer starring Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan.

Oh, and a little bit of interesting news regarding the US. There's the huge site that's been launched for the gay military workers: OUT MILITARY. Well, now that Obama has worked out the Don't Ask; Don't Tell, I guess they are going full out and open. Still, it's still a shocker how fast the world moves these days. (Obviously I found this out through Twitter; sadly, I don't read the paper and Twitter is the perfect alternative. Hehe !)

OKAY !! BACK TO SCHOOL TOMORROW !!
LET'S DO THIS, 2011.

MARKETING BLOG POST

Continuing on from my previous post on locational based social media.

Locational based social media's HUGE PRO is the boost it gives to local businesses. For them, this is PURELY FREE MARKETING. The public traffic that goes in and out of local businesses exposes them through social media. For example this would be a tweet: Enjoying the perfect coffee (@ _________ CAFE). And their followers would read this and would now be knowledgeable about the cafe but also would be inclined to pay a visit.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So how should local businesses use this and encourage more action through social media ? Give the public incentives !! Give prizes for the check-ins or for busier venues, mayorship deals !!!! HOW FUN IS THAT !? I'm so in. You should be, too. Everyone loves promotions ! And even more love when it's a game through social media. ;)

MARKETING BLOG POST

ON LOCATIONAL-BASED SOCIAL MEDIA

SAY WHHHAAAAT ??
- Foursquare, Gowalla, Whrrl, and Facebook Places.

Are you in for it ? Or are you not ?
Personally, I love it. It's fun. I used to be the mayor of Irving K. Barber Library on Foursquare !!!!!!!!! SO COOL, RIGHT !? Okay, I admit it, I'm a social media mania freak dork geek. Furthermore, I love Irving. But note the "USED TO BE" ..I only had a number of days to be in full mayorship glory until my mother flipped out about this locational check-in thing: "PEOPLE WILL STALK YOU. YOU SO FRAGILE ASIAN GIRL. THEY'LL KNOW WHEN WE'RE OUT OF THE HOUSE AND COME TO ROB US. AND ALL BECAUSE YOU DO THIS STUPID ONLINE CHECK-IN THING." Man, she lost it. I couldn't talk back at all.

This obviously is a huge generation gap. My mother's generation can't handle all the "lack of privacy," which for us is now the norm. Interesting.

This also is an aspect Foursquare users have already embraced. For most of the users on it, they don't really care about the privacy. They are in it for the fun of it - the mayorship, the fancy badges, and even local business promotions (COMING UP IN LATER POSTS). They are using it to spam-tweet to their friends and followers where they are every second of the day. Hehe. They do understand that it may be TOO MUCH INFORMATION, but deal with it.
We know it.
We still use it.
Gawwwwd.
I want those "explorer" badges and what not !!

PLEASE LET ME GO BACK TO FOURSQUARE, MAMA CHUNG !!!!!!!

MARKETING BLOG POST

A few days ago, Digital Society published an Online Service Security Report Card. Not surprisingly, but still with a little bit of a shock-value, the big two social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter scored the big F.

So what is this grade for ? It's what these sites got regarding their level of protection of the users' private information !!! AIYAAAAA !!!

It's not a huge surprise since both the sites were under some heat from third-party Firefox add-on, "FireSheep". In September, Twitter also went through a highjacking worm implanted by a Japanese developer named Masato Kinugawa. This is another absurd story that you can check out on your own IF YOU WANT CLICK ME IF YOU WANT.

So check out the report card below and make note of the secure ones and the not-so secure sites..... Gmail users, aren't you just oh-so-pleased looking at this chart !? SMUG SMILES ALL AROUND.

Some terminology you might want to familiarize yourself to !
Partial Sidejacking: Attacker can get authenticated cookies. Limited access.
Full Sidejacking: Attacker can get everything except username + password. For example, everything regarding your account on Facebook. However, cannot change password, for in order to acquire a new password, the attacker would need the old password.
Full Hijacking: Attacker can gain access to everything, including username + password.

These are from Dropsnap. And the faces one is from this guy from Dropsnap blogs. He's a make-up artist, I believe, and is craazzzyy. He does it himself to his face and takes camwhore shots ! HOW LOVELY !!!!!!! I forgot to bookmark him though, so I've no clue who he is ..out of all the Dropsnap bloggers ! T^T It's a crisis.

This is why one reads

Men's NONNO. Plus I guess other Japanese magazines. Because they inspire you to the max.. There was even a spread about COOKING. This ain't a fashion magazine nor a lifestyle magazine. It's basically one that covers everything from music to literature to fashion to food to city life. It is everything in one BIBLE-LIKE MAGAZINE that one should read faithfully month to month. If Men's NONNO disappears from my life, I wouldn't know where to go. Funny. I don't even understand Japanese.. and am also not a man.. why am I so gung-ho about this all !? LOL.

THERE WERE MANY PAGES OF DELICIOUS LOOKING SMALL-PORTIONED JAPANESE FUSION FOOD. Here's a cut of the one I likeyed the mosty. Teehee. I'm really into raw eggs.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

These shots are from other Japanese magazines that I racked into my knowledge base including, Fudge, Zipper, HighFashion, Men's Joker, AnOther Man.. I believe that to be all...... hopefully. Ahahhaa.

Some white on white exposure lookbook shots.

It's all about the patterns. I like the floral harem capris right there in the center. Pair that one up with the blue blazer underneath then a long RAINCOAT on top would fit the weather perfectly here at Vancouver. UGH. It's June 2nd btw. We're scheduled for THUNDER SHOWERS this afternoon.

I thought the clothes he were wearing made him look too hot. My ideal man would wear all four outfits Monday, Tuesday, skip Wednesday for rest, Thursday, and freaky Friday.

Men's Nonno is so simple. It outlines which sort of hoodies to buy from where for how much. But I guess I focus more on this innocent-looking too cute of an Asian boy model. Other scans below shows MANY PIECES to choose from. This is when you play that game: IF YOU CAN GET ANY FROM THIS PAGE WHICH YA WAAANT ?????? It's the best game when reading magazines. It's engaging !!

So the above tells you about how to put on great outfits and then they have few editorials here and there scattered about in the magazine to show you the outfits. AREN'T THEY THE MOST SCRUMPTIOUS AND EASY-TO-WEAR MENSWEAR !?!???!?!

What blonde has looked this cute playing a fake miniature piano !? If I did that.. People would proceed to tell me to get a life. Plus, check out those sweet lacy gloves in the second picture. For some reason, they seem REALLY SEXY to me. +0+ !!

Okay. That's enough for a day. I've got more. Those will be up sometime later. I've recovered from the loss of many pictures (RIP) and have moved on by spending mad times with friends. My mother sort of disapproves of my lifestyle these days telling me that I am QUITE UNPRODUCTIVE. Maybe that sparked sth in me inside to post THIS.
Other than that, I made a gmail account last night on a whim after getting much criticism from the world for using hotmail. I mean what's wrong with hotmail !? Whatevs. So when I feel like moving on with my life.. I will make an official switch, but til then. Hotmail will continue on. :D :D :D
